Last Thursday BetterInvesting Magazine’s Editorial Advisory and Securities Review Committee selected Deere & Company (NYSE: DE) as its November 2012 “Stock to Study” and ResMed Inc. (NYSE: RMD) as its November 2012 “Undervalued Stock” for investors’ informational and educational use.
The committee focused on Deere’s strong growth opportunities both in emerging and mature markets. As the latest Value Line report on DE says, “Farmers in nearly all corners of the world are reaping the rewards of auspicious commodity fundamentals, leading them to invest in farm equipment.” Meanwhile, the company should benefit from strong recurring revenues via providing replacement parts.
ResMed, which sells equipment for the treatment of sleep apnea, should continue to prosper as new product launches increase revenues, the committee said. Use of ResMed’s Home Sleep Testing technology is growing, and the Humicare D900 humidifier, if approved by the FDA in the upcoming year, could be among the products boosting top-line numbers.

Committee members are Robert M. Bilkie, Jr., CFA; Daniel J. Boyle, CFA; Philip S. Dano, CFA; Donald E. Danko, CFA; Maury Elvekrog, CFA; Walter J. Kirchberger, CFA; Marisa Lenhard, CFA; and Paul McVey, CFA.
