BetterInvesting investment clubs know when to hold a stock and they also know when to tidy up their portfolios a bit. That’s why BetterInvesting Magazine’s annual Top 100 Companies Held by Our Members list varies from year to year but isn’t stacked with surprises. Last year’s No. 1 stock, Apple, remains this year’s No. 1 stock.
But stocks do move up and down the register, and it’s worth taking note of the biggest movers and shakers. A real palate-pleaser for our members is grocery-store chain Whole Foods Market, based in Austin, Texas, which shot up 110 spots from No. 182 last year to No. 72 the year. 3D Systems, of Rock Hill, S.C., is another stock many clubs copied for their portfolios; it jumped from No. 138 to No. 35.
The full list of the Top 100 and the Second 100 will come out when BetterInvesting Magazine is mailed the week of March 17.
