MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., Sept. 3, 2013 — BetterInvesting’s best educators will bring simple, commonsense investing principles to the BetterInvesting National Convention, Sept. 19-22 at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel in Pittsburgh.
The BetterInvesting National Convention will empower Main Street investors to make educated portfolio decisions that will help them secure their financial future. Ronald Muhlenkamp, founder, president and portfolio manager at Muhlenkamp & Co., will provide the keynote address. Muhlenkamp, an award-winning investment manager, frequent guest of the media and featured speaker at investment shows nationwide, will detail opportunities in the natural gas market.
Another highlight will be an informal discussion led by Elisse Walter, recently retired commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission, regarding the evolving role of the SEC.
“This is the premier educational event for those with the patience and determination to follow the fundamental, long-term principles that have worked for so many people from all walks of life,” say event co-chairs Henry Gold and Susan Tampasis. “The volunteers who provide the education for this event share a passion for helping investors of all experience levels realize their financial goals.”
The convention offers dozens of sessions on selecting stocks, forecasting potential returns, retirement planning and more. Both beginners and experienced investors have many educational choices ranging from the basics of investing to sessions on options. Lively panel discussions will provide plenty of stock study ideas as well.
On Saturday, Sept. 21, the public is invited to attend a free day of investment education that features prominent companies such as Aflac, BBVA, CVS Caremark, General Electric, General Mills, Kraft, Procter & Gamble, Royal Dutch Shell and others that want to reach individual investors at the Corporate Expo.
The convention is the premiere education event of BetterInvesting, a nonprofit investment education association. The association’s BetterInvesting Volunteer Advisory Board, comprising volunteers who are passionate about the association’s mission, conducts the annual event.
